My actual birthday started out with blueberry pancakes and 2 dozen red roses. We went hunting for my gift that afternoon. Had a cheeseburger. Then headed out to celebrate with a bunch of my friends.
Alvin had set up a prix fixe dinner at
Markt, a Belgian place in Chelsea (was in Meatpacking District). Great food, great beers...and suprisingly fantastic desserts. There was also a giant red velvet cake involved at the end. My friends were saying it reminded them of our wedding -- neverending food. We ended up giving away half the cake to other tables since we just couldn't look at food anymore.
Fire hazard. They were short 4 candles too!

13 + food + beer

Way too big

What too much sugar does...
Post-dinner festivities took place at the
Flatiron Lounge, where I was the last one standing at the end of the night. I guess even though I'm getting old, my friends are even older! Haha...

happy birthday!!
happy birthday! i love your gold leaf earrings! they look great on you. also, how do you put your hair up like that? i try to wear my long hair in an up-do but just requires way too many clips or bobby pins.
Happy birthday! Looked like a fun weekend!
@Daydreamer33 - we went strolling through the jewelry district. haven't decided yet. ;)
@My_Enigma_Heart - food and love are the best things in the world!
aww happy birthday! i love that color on you!
@one_happy_bride - it's actually kinda a messy ponytail bun thing. works better on "2nd day" hair. basically gather all your hair in a ponytail and don't pull your hair all the way through the elastic. i end up using 3 rubber bands to make sure it's stable and clip up randon pieces w/ bobby pins or those mini butterfly clips.
if i want better hold/texture, i curl my whole head first either w/ rollers/curling iron. the "rougher" the hair, the better it stays.
Happy belated birthday, looks like you had a blast, that red velvet cake looks devine, i slammed my forehead on the monitor, trying to sneak a bite or a sniff. :o)
happy birthday! looks like fun... that cake slice was almost as big as your head. =P
happy birthday. hope it's the best one yet.
btw, i love your earrings.
